If you start VALORANT and run into “Error Code: 59 – There was an error connecting to the platform. Please restart your game client.” you look at a problem with multiple, possible reasons and solutions.
One of the most common ones is that VALORANT’s servers currently have some issues and it’s not on our side. But it can be on your side too, a partial block of the game by your firewall or potential ISP issues might also trigger Error 59 in VALORANT.
There are a couple of reasons and potential solutions to fix “Error 59 – There was an error connecting to the platform” in VALORANT.
Just wait a little and check if others have the same problem.
It’s possible that VALORANT’s servers are just having an issue. Come by our Discord for example, to see if others also get Error Code 59 out of the blue. If so, it’s pretty likely that it might be gone after a bit of time.
Check your Firewall
If it’s not a currently common problem, it might also be your firewall partially blocking the game. Make sure you have VALORANT fully whitelisted, and not just for a single connection or port for example.
Your ISP could also be the reason for Error Code 59.
It’s also possible that your ISP, your internet service provider, has currently some issues and that this is why you get Error 59 in VALORANT. In this case, you should also just wait a bit and see if it fixes the problem by itself.
As you can see, Error 59 is usually just some temporary connection problem or VALORANT being able to not fully connect to the game’s servers.
