What Riot is saying about the Valorant Release Date
In the first Valorant teaser during Riot’s 10th anniversary Riot Pls, Anna “Supercakes” Dolon (Executive Producer, Valorant) announced that the team will go dark until 2020.
But that’s not all! Something many missed is that Riot published an additional post after the announcement to clear up some things about the timelines for their newly announced games. In this post, Riot answers the question when the game will be playable with just a single “Eventually“. That doesn’t sound that far off.
Other indicators for the Valorant Release Date
- Ronald “Rambo” Kim, former CS 1.6 & CS:S pro published a YouTube video in which he not only discloses that he’s one of the play testers for Valorant, but also voices some predictions for more a more public beta test. Rambo states in his video that the game already feels pretty complete and that he would not be surprised to see a public test in the next 6 months.

Riot’s Handling of Play-testing and Betas Is a Good Sign
Where other publishers hold up to month-longs invite-only betas for big content creators and pros, Riot – at least for their two recent releases TFT and Legends of Runeterra – did give all players an early chance to get into the beta. They did invite and fly in some pros and influencer for their new games – in both cases that was pretty close to the first more open and public tests.
So, Here’s When We Expect Valorant to Be Playable
Summer 2020.
